My Logo: From this to that

Some years ago, when I decided to create a website and present myself to the world as a Wellness Practitioner, I envisioned creating a logo that would also encompass all the other disciplines I am involved in. I also wanted it to remind me of the journey of self-awareness that I had embarked on over these 15 years.

This small design precisely symbolized my journey. For the first 37 years of my life, I was entirely focused outwardly. Then, one day, when I changed direction, I began to observe myself from within.

That’s why I immediately loved it when it came to me in a dream. My daughters later drew and transformed it.

I wanted it to be clear, yet also dense and intense; I wanted it to reflect us, our family, and the harmony that exists among us, which is the outcome of a long path of self-awareness undertaken many years ago.

The drawing that inspired the idea for Raffaela Marescalco's Feng Shui logo depicts a house with a red roof, inside which there is a tree with a trunk formed by two stylized figures. To the right, there is an orange sun and the two Chinese characters Feng and Shui written in blue.

The creation of the logo

As a Feng Shui expert, I chose to recreate the image of the dwelling using shapes and colors that symbolize the 5 phases of Traditional Chinese Medicine: Water, Wood, Fire, Earth, and Metal, rather than drawing the circle that indicates the continuous and gradual flow of these phases.

On one side of the house, I have included a tree whose trunk is composed and divided into the bodies of the two inhabitants of a home. They symbolize growth and the personal aspirations of each individual. When I began studying Naturopathy, I also saw in that tree the central element of the naturopathic journey that guides my clients toward a much more conscious well-being through herbal practices, flower therapy, mycology, and, above all, by listening to our emotional selves.

The meaning of my logo

Finally, I incorporated the two ideograms Feng and Shui (Feng = Wind and Shui = Water) into my Feng Shui logo on the wall of the house that I wanted to represent the fulfillment of projects. It’s true, I have completed a long cycle of studies that lasted over 12 years. However, these two elements of nature represent for me the continuous flow of time and, with it, continuous evolution, change, and the ongoing pursuit of self-knowledge and life purpose.

Lastly, the sun, the light, the ultimate Yang, the fire element which, for me, is as necessary as it was until recently unknown, because it was completely absent in my natal chart (BA ZI). I also thought of connecting the Sun with Iridology. From a person’s irises, we can investigate their physical and emotional state and their ability to recover from the stress of experienced traumas. In the irises, we see the condition of the tissues of all organs, so it seemed entirely relevant to me to link the sun with Iridology and thus offer another avenue to guide my clients towards their inner light.

The Importance of Home in Feng Shui

However, I couldn’t give up on the element of HOME. Houses have always been my passion since childhood, and my journey started from my idea of home—the pleasure of having a cozy place to return to every evening, to recharge my energy, and to meet the most important people in my life. When I decided to heal from my wounds, I always linked this action to choosing the bricks for my new home, my SELF. So, I incorporated that idea into the new logo, recreating it with a small pagoda in front of a setting sun.

Now I am ready to share my experience, my journey, to support you with Love on your path.
