The artist’s sensitivity: a gift to embrace and share

The nature of the artist and their sensitivity

These days I was reflecting, as often happens since I have lived in this part of Germany, because I lose myself in the silence, in long moments of solitude, immersed in an overwhelming nature, not always easy for me who come from the city, in the absolutely unusual encounter with families of deer, foxes, squirrels, buzzards, robins, red-tailed kites, migratory birds of all kinds… and I receive answers to ancient questions…

I felt the need to stop this thought and set it down in writing because maybe it concerns you and makes you suffer, as it has done with me for so many, many years. It concerns

The perception and sensitivity of the artist

  • If as a child they made you feel wrong by telling you that you lived in your fairy world or were always distracted
  • if when you were learning to write you would lose some letters, filling the page with spelling mistakes
  • if when you should have been sitting still at the desk your legs danced without you being able to keep them still
  • if when you listened to music you would have painted an enchanted forest with all the colors of the rainbow
  • if when you were painting your colors weren’t enough for you …
  • if when you read a book you dove into it with your whole body…
  • If you were reading a story, and that story became your own…

Then this post is for you.

You were never wrong… you were (you are) an artist.

Even as an adult, people used to tell me I lived alone on my little planet, like the Little Prince.

If you read a story and it became your story…

An artist carries an incredible dose of sensitivity.

Often parents are frightened by it, teachers are annoyed by it, and other children don’t know how to deal with it…

Put yourself in their shoes:

in a world that strives to make everyone the same, you are different… you don’t conform…

you almost seem like a manufacturing defect.

So before you move on, know this — it wasn’t their fault.

Their perception simply didn’t allow them to understand and embrace your power.

Now, embrace that child.

Let them feel your love and warmth.

Continue reading only when that wound no longer throbs,

when you feel tenderness for those who couldn’t understand or know any better back then.

Embrace yourself too — that part of you that, unknowingly, was overwhelmed by the strength of your own sensitivity.

Show compassion toward yourself and accept who you are.

If you feel like crying, do it — cry until you feel lighter, until you feel free again.

From a purely naturopathic perspective, I can even recognize this story in your body.

At a certain point, it shapes you in a specific way — impossible not to notice — revealing your wound.

But this shape will change, and it will improve once you truly make peace with your past,

your sorrow, your suffering, and your sense of not being understood.

You will learn to accept and love your nature as a “crystal prism.”

You no longer need to compare yourself to the pebbles in the river —

polished smooth by the current (they, too, have their place in the world and are perfect as they are).

Your task now is to rise,

to transform the light that touches you into a spectacle of colors.

Your purpose is to share that light —

to show the world what you feel through all the forms that art can take.

People will rediscover the places and moments they hold dear,

they’ll find their own feelings expressed in your words —

feelings they couldn’t describe themselves.

Whether it’s a song, a poem, or a story — don’t hold back.

Give your talent to the world.

You’ll let others see familiar scenes — moments of life, emotions in color.

How many times have we wished to capture a magical moment forever?

You can — so gift the world a glimpse of light,

a special instant caught through your eyes.

You, who can bring color to life — do it!

You’ll make the hearts of those who watch and listen move.

They’ll hear your message and find the voice of their own feelings.

They’ll dream of expressing what you give sound to.

Singing, after all, gives voice to the words others cannot say —

the ones that get stuck in the throat, like uncried tears that turn into illness.

Singing elevates your energetic frequencies and restores balance between body and mind.

Of course, the kind of music matters —

minor keys carry melancholy, while major ones can lift you from sorrow to joy.

(Choose your songs carefully — lyrics and melody hold great power over your psyche and emotions.)

(Whether fabric, ceramic, glass, metal, or wood…)

You give the world objects infused with your energy and strength.

If it’s positive, it will bring joy and admiration for a long time.

You’ll fill your clients’ lives with beauty.

We all seek beauty — each in our own way.

That’s why I invite you to let go of discouragement and shame,

and to give yourself to the world through your sensitivity, your creativity, your passion, your inner fire.

We need you — truly.

An artist’s gift lies in the intensity of their perception —

more physical than mental — toward everything around them.

That’s why their descriptions are made of vivid colors, crystal-clear sounds, and deep emotions

(depending on whether their visual, auditory, or sensory aspect prevails).

They may seem distracted,

but in truth, they are immersed in the vividness of their own thoughts and emotions.

To all the artists:

Offer your gift consciously,

choosing with care and love the message you send.

If you must speak of pain, give space to growth, evolution, and healing.

To those who are not artists:

Try to rediscover the beauty of art that has been somewhat lost amid engineering and technology.

Art heals the soul.

We must all reclaim the bold beauty of a blooming flower,

the song of a nightingale, the light of the Moon.

And to everyone —

I ask for the ability to welcome and honor the wonderful diversity within each of us. 🌙
