Schüssler Salts
According to Italian regulations, Naturopaths do not make diagnoses, provide treatments, or handle patient care. These are the exclusive responsibilities of traditional medicine. Additionally, we are not nutritionists.
The approach of a Naturopath involves supporting individuals through a relationship based on listening and trust. This helps the client open up and primarily explore their emotions, which is different from the approach of a Counselor or Psychologist.
A Naturopath observes the person, evaluates them based on their constitution, and examines their words and gestures to understand how emotions, stress, and lifestyle may have influenced or altered their constitution.
Subsequently, the Naturopath identifies priorities for restoring balance and well-being. They offer advice on dietary supplementation to help the client manage stressful events in their life and provide guidance on reconnecting with one’s “nature,” recognizing it, and learning to embrace it. Since each person reacts differently, the Naturopath aims to support the client with personalized solutions that are beneficial. Our role is to offer a unique form of support and mentoring tailored to each individual.
How do Schüssler Salts work?
Among the supplements we can recommend, in addition to the use of Bach flowers, oligo-elements, gemmotherapy, and essential oils, as mentioned in the Naturopathy section, and the use of some incredible mushrooms, are also Schüssler Salts.
These salts aim to rebalance certain disturbances by affecting our biochemistry and physiology. The term “biochemistry” was coined by Dr. Schüssler himself. This homeopathic physician made some observations and identified the presence of twelve inorganic salts within the human body. He attributed great importance to these salts in the physiology of the cells that make up the organism. (Note: The salts identified by Schüssler are indeed present in the body and play essential roles in its well-being.)
Based on these observations, Schüssler hypothesized that an imbalance in the concentration of these salts in the body could be a cause of certain dysfunctions. According to this theory, he suggested that taking preparations made by diluting these salts might help restore normal cellular physiological functions.
The concentration of the salts is minimal, and the goal, as in all such disciplines, is to provide just a small amount of information to the body’s cells so that they are gradually “encouraged” to correct mineral imbalances and learn to benefit from them again. Thus, the administration of Schüssler Salts stimulates the body’s cells to properly absorb and utilize the inorganic salts.
Why did I study Schüssler Salts?
The reason I chose to pursue this new field of study is my desire to deepen our understanding of physiology in order to support individuals who choose to prioritize their well-being.
For me, it represents a way to integrate the knowledge and techniques used in Feng Shui (viewing the home as an extension of our body), Ba Zi (where our destiny manifests through our body), and Traditional Chinese Medicine (which considers the human being as a unified entity: mind, body, and soul/heart). Understanding a person’s Constitution, as well as their Ba Zi, is highly beneficial. It allows me to identify which supplements or adjustments might be useful to provide them with the strength needed to transition from emergency mode to a fulfilling life path, regardless of age. As I’ve mentioned, I feel more fit and toned, my skin is healthier, and my hair is much more vibrant now at 53 than it was when I was 37.
